Scholarship Bulletin Board

Scholarship money is awarded by community groups, individuals, and foundations. Information and applications arrive on a rolling basis. The information is posted here. Seniors interested in scholarship opportunities should check this website frequently.


Students who match the criteria outlined by the organization are encouraged to apply. Applications for many scholarships are available online. Click on the links below. If there is not a web link, a paper application may be available in the College & Career Center. Students are reminded to observe deadlines. Completed applications must be submitted to your counselor prior to the deadline, if a counselor recommendation is required.

Automation Alley Scholarship Program

Beverly Hills Lions Club Community Service Scholarship 2010- for graduating high school seniors residing in the Village of Beverly Hills; documented community service involvement. Deadline to apply is April 1st.

Birmingham SCHOLAR - for students residing in the Birmingham School District at the time of graduation. Based on financial need, student academic performance, community service, work experience, and student/family circumstances.

Current Surfaces, Inc. Track Athlete Scholarship - for students with 3 or more years of track participation. Application deadline in April.

H.T. Ewald Foundation Scholarship Program

Eastern Michigan University Alumni Scholarship

Harold I. Gach Memorial Scholarship - For a student admitted to MSU, with at least a 3.2 GPA, and experience with cancer, either themselves or a parent.

Independent Bank Scholarship -
Student must have at least a 3.0 GPA, plan on attending a Michigan college or university and write a 500 word essay on "Five Practical Steps for Ethical Decisions Making Businesses Should Adopt"

Jennifer Gordon Polan Memorial Scholarship -
$1,000 to one graduating Groves senior who has one or more of these characteristics - leadership, commitment to community service, compassion for humanity and the environment.

Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program - Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan. Must be resident of Oakland County, plan to attend one of the public universities in Michigan, and have lost their fathers due to death or loss of parental rights. Must be pursuing a major that leads to a career in law, dentistry, nursing, or medicine. To access application, type in the name of the scholarship in the website's search engine.

National Council of Jewish Women - Greater Detroit Section, Jewish Youth Awards

Jewish War Veteran Department of Michigan Scholarship - for children or grandchildren of a veteran without restriction or consideration as to race, religion or creed. This is not the national scholarship listed below.

Labor Council For Latin American Advancement, Oakland County Chapter, Scholarship Award -
for Oakland County graduating seniors of Hispanic heritage.

MEA Scholarship - For HS senior interested in education field. Application now available in Career Center. Deadline is February.

Metropolitan Detroit Bureau of School Studies Scholarship Award - June 1 deadline. For students enrolling at member institutions including OCC, Oakland U, Wayne State U, and WCCC.

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship Program - January deadline

Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation Scholarship - deadline Jan 31.
