  • Welcome Back-to-School @ BCSback to school

    Thursday, August 16th - 10am to 12pm and 5pm to 7pm
    Tuesday, August 21st - 10am to 12pm and 5pm to 7pm

    Receive locker number and combination, drop off medication, drop off school supplies, drop off Pre-Participation Physical, 1st Day School Supply orders available for pickup, PTA membership information, BPS Lunch Program Information, and much more!

  • Kids Club Registration is open

    Please note that the first day back to school is Tuesday, Sept. 4 and is a Half Day. Kids Club is available for registered families. Please see the linked 2018-19 packet for Kids Club registration and scheduling information. Early scheduling discounts will be extended for this month only through the first week of school (Sept. 7).

  • 2018-2019 Summer Packets & School Supplies

    3-8 Summer Packets are now available online. Students in 3/4 were given an envelope last week that included a copy of the community read book, as well as the summer packet, cards and 2 dice. Summer Packets may be found at Students/Summer Packets. The BCS PTA is excited to announce a new partnership with 1st Day School Supplies.  Pick up during Back-to-School Days.

  • BCS Directory Update

    Welcome to the new school year! It is time to update your BCS Directory information. Whether you are new to the school, have an existing student, or are adding a student, the link is the same for everyone. As part of our annual "back to school” process, we need you to enter/review the information we have for your family and become a member of our wonderful parent association (you can now do this online!).  We have a lot of great programs planned this year that need your support.  By using the link below, you can:

    1. ​Enter/Update/Confirm your family contact information for the directory
    2. Purchase membership to and support the BCS PTA

  • 2018-2019 Optional Trips for 7/8 Students

    We are excited to be offering next year’s 7th and 8th grade students three optional trips for the 2018-2019 school year:

    • Costa Rica – January 16-21, 2019
    • Washington DC – March 22-26, 2019
    • Band/Orchestra – Spring, 2019

    Information Meeting:  Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in the BCS Media Center

    • Washington DC: 6:30-7:00pm
    • Costa Rica: 7:00-8:00pm
    • Band/Orchestra: Meeting will be later in the school year

  • 2018-2019 Quarter I Choice Hour Now Available 

    Choice Hour class schedules will be posted by August 16. Please stop by the Choice Hour Board during Registration on either August 16 or 21. Change Forms will be available on September 7th, and are due back by September 13th at 4pm.

  • Welcome to Birmingham Covington School

    The Birmingham Covington Districtwide 3-8 School (BCS) is a 3-8 districtwide school of choice for families residing in the Birmingham Public School District. It is designed to offer a clear choice in educational structure and philosophy to parents/guardians and children seeking a rigorous academic challenge. BCS has a special emphasis on comprehensive science and technology instruction based on the Association for the Advancement of Science report, Project 2061, and enGauge: 21st Century Skills.
