  • BCS Half Day - Friday, January 25, 2019 - 11:30am dismissal

    The end of Quarter II is Friday, Jan. 25th and BCS will have a half day. Dismissal is 11:30am. There is no Choice Hour that day, and the buses will run. The new Choice Hours will begin the following Monday, Jan. 28th.

  • Outdoor Recess in the Cold Weather

    Now that the Winter weather is settling in (mostly), please remember to send coats, boots, snowpants, and maybe extra socks to school with your children. We will go outside for recess every day, weather permitting.

  • Saturday School @ Berkshire

    In partnership with the Birmingham African American Family Network, Birmingham Public Schools provides tutoring for students who need help in any grade level, and in any academic area. It is hosted in the media center at Berkshire Middle School from 9am - 11am. All K-12 BPS student and parents are welcome to join. For more information see their website @:

  • BEF Unabashed Bash is February 9

    You're invited to join the Birmingham Education Foundation at the Townsend Hotel on Saturday, February 9 for an evening in celebration of our schools.     The Birmingham Covington Districtwide 3-8 School (BCS) is a 3-8 districtwide school of choice for families residing in the Birmingham Public School District. It is designed to offer a clear choice in educational structure and philosophy to parents/guardians and children seeking a rigorous academic challenge. BCS has a special emphasis on comprehensive science and technology instruction based on the Association for the Advancement of Science report, Project 2061, and enGauge: 21st Century Skills.
