BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY: WEDNESDAY, MAY 9
Beverly is joining with many other schools across Michigan to take part in Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 9. Students who live within walking distance are encouraged to ride their bikes to school and fill our bike racks! Last year, 94 students rode their bikes on Bike to School Day – let’s see if we can have more than 100 bikers this year!
Why bike to school? For one thing, it’s good physical activity. It’s also good for the environment and reduces the traffic congestion around school. Most of all, it’s a fun way to get to school! You can ride with your friends, get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors before school.
Please remember to wear your helmet. Also, school rules require you to walk your bicycle on school property. Be sure to plan a few extra minutes, as you’ll have to park your bike on the north (primary) playground and walk around to your designated entrance.
(In the event of inclement weather on Wednesday, May 9, Bike to School Day will be postponed until the following day.)
Children who will be attending Kindergarten at Beverly in the fall are invited to Kindergarten Visit on Thursday, May 17.
Last name A - K: 9:15 - 10:15 am
Last name L - Z: 10:45 - 11:45 am
During the visit, students will visit a Kindergarten classroom and have a chance to meet the teachers while playing, drawing and listening to a story. Meanwhile, parents will meet Kim Vigneron, Beverly Principal, as well as Cathy Reef, Reading Specialist, who will share fun ways to boost literacy learning. Representatives from the Beverly PTA will also be on hand to answer any questions for incoming families.
Looking forward to meeting our new Kindergarten students!
