Personal Comments:

John (aka J.P. or “Mr. P”) is an original core staff member at BCS and has taught in the district for 31 years. The core staff was selected before the 3-8 school was opened and had the responsibility of creating, planning and developing the unique programs and curriculum. John has been teaching Industrial Technology, Design and Engineering Technology courses for a total of 34 years, the first 13 at the High School level. The age range of his students goes from third grade here at Covington to adults at Lawrence Technological University.

John believes that meaningful learning takes place when students experience practical applications of Mathematic and Scientific principles. Technology is the result of human innovation with a purpose. It is the application of knowledge, tools, and skills to solve problems and to extend human capabilities.
