Hello LSA Families,
My name is David Brooks and I am honored to serve as the new Principal at Lincoln Street Alternative. I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with both you and your child to become a small part of their journey to success in life. I firmly believe that ALL kids can learn when given equitable opportunities to succeed. I am really looking forward getting to know your child, which includes learning about their passions, interests, and both short and long term goals in life.
Before coming to Birmingham Public Schools in 2013, I had an opportunity to teach in Saginaw, Immokalee (located in Florida) and Detroit. In 2013, I joined Berkshire Middle School as a math teacher. I was then given the opportunity in 2016 to serve as both the Berkshire Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, which is the role I have been serving in for the last four years. I will now be serving as the Principal of LSA and the Principal of BPS Virtual Learning.
In getting to know the three teachers here at LSA, it has brought me great comfort to know how much they genuinely care about your children and how high their expectations are for them. Please know that your kids are in good hands with adults that care about them in this unique educational environment.
