Contact Mrs. Sak in the Community Service Office with any questions at ESak@birmingham.k12.mi.us or at 248-203-3509During their years at Groves, students are encouraged to engage in service learning and community service projects. By becoming involved, students directly experience the benefits of community connection and good citizenship-- specifically the positive effects giving back has on mental and physicial health.During their junior or senior years, health class students are asked to complete 10 hours of service during the trimester.Other student organizations and clubs also require or encourage service learning and/or community service commitments such as our Experiential Learning course, National Honor Society, Groves Student Congress (GSC), Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Student Ambassadors and the Interact Club.Additionally, many independent clubs, programs, classes and athletic teams create their own service projects in relationship to their focus and intent. Some examples are voter registration campaigns, Capstone projects and days of service. Finally, the entire school comes together to support an annual Charity Week filled with service events, fundraising and other efforts as organized by GSC.Click here for an additional resource list of virtual community service opportunities provided by Youth Service America: https://ysa.org/covid/

INTERACT CLUB
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club that gives students an opportunity to participate in fun and meaningful service projects. The Groves Interact Club meet once or twice monthly usually on Tuesday afternoons at school or in the community depending on the activities planned by a student led executive board. Interact Club is self-supporting and self-governing, thus encouraging the development of leadership skills.
