Bingham Farms Elementary

Inspiring all learners to positively impact their world.

Principal's Note

  •

    Dear Bingham families,

On Thursday I, as well as many staff and parents had the opportunity to watch our children perform their skit for Destination Imagination.  Wow, Imagination says it all!  Our students used their own creativity with props to display concepts.  It was fun to see what they can do.  Congrats to our team!  Our after school academic enrichment teams of Math Penthalon, Science Olympiad and DI all have had very successful and enriching experiences; it has been a wonderful opportunity to watch our children grow their minds.

Friday our Bingham staff continued their Professional learning with Restorative Practice.  All staff have been trained in the “Why” of restorative practice and today worked on learning the “How” of using restorative circles in classroom settings.  We feel having students work within a cooperative atmosphere in which students take responsibility for their actions increase reflection and empathy. This will lead to our children making better behavior choices.  In the situations where we have used the circles, we already are seeing the benefits.

To all the Moms in our Community, hope you enjoyed your special day: celebrating all you do each day!  You deserve the love, affection and attention of your family.

     Debbie
