All positive COVID-19 cases among BPS staff and students will be posted here. The following actions will take place for each positive case:
- The individual(s) in question will be quarantined from work/school until released to return by a healthcare professional.
- BPS will work closely with the Health Department to conduct contact tracing. Those individuals who are determined to have been in close contact with the COVID-19 positive individual(s) will be contacted by someone from the Health Department or BPS with additional guidance.
- The BPS facilities team will conduct additional, deep cleaning of the classroom, office, bus, or other space that was occupied by the COVID-19 positive individual(s) prior to it being reopened for staff and/or students. The cleaning will be performed in accordance with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) guidelines.

On Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual at Derby Middle School. The individual was present at school on Jan. 14 and was asymptomatic. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place the morning of Jan. 15 following the notification to us.

On Sunday, Jan. 10, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual at West Maple Elementary. Those who may have come in contact with the individual have been contacted. The Oakland County Health Division has been alerted.

On Sunday, Jan. 10, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual present at Derby Middle School on Monday, Jan. 4. The individual was not displaying symptoms. The individual has contacted those who may have come in contact with this person. The Oakland County Health Division has been alerted.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, we were alerted to a probable COVID positive case in an individual present at the Education and Administration Building on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The individual was in the building and not showing symptoms Monday through Wednesday of this week, but began showing symptoms Wednesday evening. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place on Thursday, Dec. 3.

On Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 we were alerted to a postive COVID-19 case at Derby Middle School. The individual was present on Nov. 23. The individual has contacted those who they may have come in contact with.The Oakland County Health Division has been alerted.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, we were alerted to two positive cases of COVID-19 at Pembroke Elementary School. Contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place on Nov.18, Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 directly following the notification to us.

On Sunday, Nov. 15 we were alerted to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in the CI program at Groves High School. The positive case came to school on November 11 and was not displaying symptoms but developed symptoms later in the day. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place Monday, Nov. 16, following the notification to us.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, we were alerted to a positive COVID-19 case in an individual that attended swim practice at BCS on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12. Individuals who need to quarantine have been contacted. OCHD will continue their investigation and do any follow-ups necessary.

On Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in the Adult Transition ASD Program. The individual was last present on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and not displaying symptoms. Individuals who were considered to be in close contact with this individual on Monday and Tuesday have already been notified and asked to quarantine.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 of an individual at Bingham Farms Elementary School. The individual was in the building both Thursday, Nov. 5 and Friday, Nov. 6 and not displaying symptoms. The individual began displaying minor symptoms on Saturday and got tested on Sunday. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place Tuesday, Nov. 10 following the notification to us.

On Monday, Nov. 9, we were alerted to two positive COVID-19 cases at Pierce Elementary School present on Nov. 6. We informed Oakland County Health Division when we were notified, and the students or staff members who need to quarantine have been contacted.
On Monday, Nov. 9, we were alerted to additional positive cases of COVID-19 at Quarton Elementary School. The individuals were last present on Thursday, Nov. 5 and not displaying symptoms. The individuals began staying home Friday, Nov. 6. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place today, Nov. 9, following the notification to us.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 at Seaholm High School. The individual was displaying no symptoms until Thursday, November 5 at which time was tested and followed quarantine procedures. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place on Nov. 9.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 at Berkshire Middle School. This individual was last present at Berkshire on Friday, Nov. 6.We are working with the Oakland County Health Division to investigate the case and identify any close contacts.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 at Quarton Elementary School. The individual was last present on Monday, Nov. 2 and not displaying symptoms. The individual began staying home Tuesday, Nov. 3. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place today, Nov. 8, following the notification to us.
On Sunday, Nov. 8,2020 we were alerted to a possible COVID-19 case at The Adult Transition Program. We are working with the Oakland County Health Division to investigate the case and identify any close contacts.

On Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 we were alerted to a COVID-19 case at Pierce Elementary School present on Nov. 4. We informed Oakland County Health Division when we were notified, and at this time, no students or staff members are considered to have been exposed due to the infection control practices and social distancing implemented as part of our daily protocol.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 identified in an individual at Derby Middle School. The individual was not in close contact with any others in Derby and no exposure occurred. The Oakland County Health Division has been alerted as we continue to report cases we are made aware of during this time.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 we were alerted to a probable positive case of COVID-19 in BPS Transportation. The individual was present on Oct. 29 and 30 and not displaying symptoms. They began displaying symptoms on Saturday, Oct. 31 and sought testing. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place Wednesday, Nov. 4 following the notification to us.
On Wednesday, November 4, 2020 we were notified of a COVID-19 case of an individual at Birmingham Covington School. At this time, no students or staff members are considered to have been exposed.

On Sunday, November 1, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 at Harlan Elementary. The individual was in attendance at school on October 28, 2020, and started having symptoms on October 29, 2020. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place on November 2, 2020, and they are conducting an investigation.
On Sunday, November 1, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual present at Berkshire Middle School on October 30, 2020 and went to get tested that same day. It does not appear that there were any close contacts with other individuals present at Berkshire. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place November 1, 2020 and they are conducting an investigation.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, we were alerted to a probable case of COVID-19 in an individual at Quarton Elementary. The individual was in attendance at school on October 26, 2020 and was not displaying symptoms. When the individual began displaying symptoms at home that evening they then sought medical attention. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place October 27, 2020 and they are conducting an investigation.

On Friday, October 23, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual at Beverly Elementary. The individual was in attendance at school on October 22, 2020 and was not displaying symptoms. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place October 23, 2020 and they are conducting an investigation.
On Friday, October 23 we were alerted to a probable positive case of COVID-19 in the Adult Transition Program. The individual was present in the ASD program on Thursday, October 22 and not displaying symptoms. The individual stayed home on Friday, October 23 when symptoms appeared. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place Friday, October 23 following the notification to us.

On October 15, 2020 we were alerted to a positive COVD-19 case at the French School of Detroit. The individual was present on October 9th, October 12th, October 13th, and October 14th, 2020. At this time, no students or staff members are considered to have been exposed due to the infection control practices and social distancing implemented.
10.13.2020On October 13, 2020, we were alerted to a positive COVID-19 case at Pierce Elementary. Symptoms began on Monday, Oct. 12 when the individual was not present in the school. Due to the onset of symptoms, OCHD has determined that no exposure has occurred at Pierce.

On October 7, 2020, we were alerted to a probable positive case of COVID-19 at Harlan Elementary. The individual was present on Monday, Oct. 5, and not displaying symptoms. The individual stayed home on Tuesday, Oct. 6 when symptoms appeared. COVID exposure can occur 48 hours prior to symptoms presenting. Initial contact with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) took place on Oct. 7 and the investigation yielded no exposure had occurred.

On October 2, 2020, we were alerted to a positive case of COVID-19 in an individual at Groves High School. This individual participated in the PSAT test administration that took place on campus yesterday and was also present at football practice Monday-Thursday of this week. They were asymptomatic but had a family member who tested positive, and therefore, went to be tested. The rapid test result was a positive test.
