       Chick Evans Scholarship for Caddies.  The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. To qualify, caddies must meet the requirements of having a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character. Two years of caddying experience is required at certain clubs. (Juniors pondering caddying another summer might want to consider this as a possibility).

      Pontiac Elk Lodge, Legacy Awards – The Legacy Awards program begins on September 1st, 2022. The Elks National Foundation awards $1.4 million in scholarships worth $4,000 each. The ENF offers a total of 350 national awards for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members.       The MSGCU 

      We are excited to announce that our 2023 Scholarship Program is accepting applications now through Tuesday, February 28. This year we are offering 33 scholarships, each for $2,500, to applicants within the Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union field of membership. Our scholarship portfolio includes:

      Educational Solutions Scholarship - offered to high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2023 who plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Eighteen (18) $2,500 scholarships are awarded.

      Rudolph Heino High School Scholarship - offered to high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2023 who embody the MSGCU philosophy of “people helping people.” Five (5) $2,500 scholarships are awarded.

      Larry Swantek Educational Studies Scholarship - offered to high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2023 who plan to major in education or current college students with an education major. Four (4) $2,500 scholarships are awarded.

      Milo Perreault Educator Advantage Scholarship - offered to certified educators and administrators of early childhood, primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools attending a continuing education program, college, or university. Four (4) $2,500 scholarships are awarded.

      • William Cayen Skilled Trades Scholarship - offered to students enrolled at an accredited not-for-profit public school or a private vocational skilled trades school located in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, or Wayne County. Students must be pursuing certification in electrical, HVAC, automotive, or other industrial and advanced technologies or skilled trades programs, and have consecutively earned six (6) credit hours or ninety (90) certificate hours thus far. Two (2) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded in 2023.
      • When is the application period?
        Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 8 a.m. EST through Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 10 p.m. EST.
      • How does an applicant apply?
        Applications must be completed online at msgcu.org/scholarships. Paper applications are not accepted.
      • Can non-members apply?
        Yes, non-members may apply, but if selected as a scholarship recipient, they must join MSGCU before funds are distributed to their college/university financial aid office.

      Michigan Education Association Scholarship – student must be a dependent of MEA member or MEA retired member in good standing; graduating from a Michigan public or private HS with an MEA bargaining unit; will attend a Michigan public state institution of higher education or one of a few Michigan private institutions listed on the application.  

      Marine Corps Career & Technical scholarships are available to children of U.S. Marines and Navy Corpsmen looking to join the ranks of those on the cutting edge of today's workforce. Applications are open, check eligibility requirements today! Go to www.mcsf.org/cte for more information.

      Michigan Realtors Scholarship Fund. https://www.RealtorScholarshipFund.com and completing the online application. Only online applications are being accepted.  All applicants must email a transcript and ACT/SAT scores, if available, to RealtorScholarshipFund@gmail.com.

      Michigan State University Merit Aid

      MSU Michigan Resident Scholarship of up to $1,500 annually.  All admitted Michigan students will be automatically considered for this new scholarship. If you haven’t already done so, apply to MSU as soon as possible to receive maximum scholarship consideration. 

      MSU Alumni Club - see Mrs. Kondak for a paper application. This $2,000 award does require information from your counselor & official transcript. 

      MSU Corn Growers Association Scholarship. MCGA Association website  applicants or a family member must be a member of MCGA to apply, membership # required.

      Point Foundation - The National LBGTQ Scholarship Fund  

      The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.  Learn more at their website:  https://spirit.prudential.com/about/program-overview

      Gordon A. Rich memorial Scholarship.       Western Michigan University Admitted students are encouraged to utilize ScholarshipUniverse to review and apply for additional scholarships. ScholarshipUniverse is WMU's scholarship matching tool and can be used to search for internal and external scholarships. Students will need to use their Bronco NetID and password to login. Students can find out about setting up their Bronco NetID password online.

      Wylie E. Groves Counseling Scholarship Award Amount: Award Amount:  $500 one time amount to two Groves graduating seniors. 

      • A Groves graduating senior accepted to a post-secondary school: trade school, 2-year or 4-year college.
      • No GPA is required. The ideal recipient should be a well-rounded student who represents the characteristics of the GROVES way
      • Prompt for Essay: How do you exemplify the characteristics of  The Groves Way? Please give at least one specific example.
      • Format:  250 word typed essay. Please turn in a hard copy of the essay to your counselor. 

      About Groves’ Counseling Department:  As Groves High School Counselors, we are dedicated to supporting the needs of our students. We focus on developing student academic, career and social/emotional development through American School Counselor Association (ASCA). It is our hope that each and every Groves graduate achieves high success and leads a fulfilling life as a responsible member of society.
