Once a student is registered within the Birmingham Public School District, that student will have a meal account. All students have meal accounts. Account information is imported from PowerSchool. Teachers that purchase any items from the cafe are encouraged to create an account by sending a request to our Chartwells Administrator.
Even if your student does not plan on purchasing a lunch, breakfast, or a la carte snacks, your student will still have a lunch account. A student can go the entire duration of their school years without utilizing their lunch account, however, their lunch account is available. If a student forgets their lunch or needs to have a lunch for any reason, the student is able to charge up to two, complete meals to their account, per our policy.
Parents can view lunch account information at Family Portal. Here you can deposit money to your student's account, view their activity, place restrictions on their account and much more. Money can also be added to accounts via cash or check payable to BPS to your student's school.
