    • To build upon and improve each student’s general math skills
    • To develop each student’s reasoning ability
    • To cultivate each student’s problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
    • To reinforce concepts for success in future math courses

  • Mathlab Purpose

    Mathlab’s purpose is to reinforce and review math skills and concepts for success in CP Math and further math courses.  Grading will be Pass or Fail.  Success in Mathlab requires ample participation, consistent effort and a good attitude.

    The student's grade will be determined by the points earned divided by the total points possible for each category, then weighted for their final grade.  Grades will be broken into the following categories:

    • Homework 15%
    • Classwork 15%
    • Quizzes 30%
    • Tests 40%

    The district grading scale will be used.

    In order to have the best possible learning environment, it is necessary for each student to be responsible for his or her own conduct.  The only rule needed is for students to: Respect others. Students must be able to learn and the teacher must be able to teach.

  • Student Materials

    Student Materials for Math 6/7/8

    • Binder: Students will bring their CP math binder to class.  Recommended sections:  Notes; Homework; Quizzes and Tests
    • Composition Book: Students will use a composition notebook for their notes.  A composition book with grid paper is recommended.
    • Pencil: Writing in pencil (not pen) will insure corrections can be made appropriately.
    • Suggested Resources:
      • Calculator TI-30x or TI-83 or better Graphing Calculator
      • Highlighters, Markers, Color Pencils
      • Graph Paper
