CHOIR ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. WINTER CONCERT MONDAY DECEMBER 4TH, 2017!  
      1. WHEN: Monday evening December 4th, 6:05pm arrival for students (to the Seaholm Auditorium) 7:00pm performance.
      2. WHERE:  Seaholm High School Auditorium
      3. ARRIVAL:  Students arrive to the auditorium between 6:00 and 6:10pm. We will move to the Seaholm choir room (G004 - basement) to warm-up and prepare for our performance.
      4. PERFORMANCE TIME:  7:00pm sharp.  (The approximate duration of the performance is 45 minutes)
      5. UNIFORM:  Formal Attire.  (See uniform hand outs)
    2.  FALL FUND RAISER UP DATE: As of now, our total participation was 44%.  Thank you so much to all students and families able to gather donations and support our choir program! It isn't too late for students to turn in donations if they were unable during the donation drive.  All money raised goes directly to enhance your childs derby music education. 
    3. SPRING MUSIC DEPARTMENT TRIPS:
      • Dead line to register was November 15th. 
      • It is not too late to register however, the sooner you registar your child, the more likely they will not be wait listed.  Seats are almost filled up for each trip.  
      • We are in need of parent chaperones.

    4. Derby Uniform (t-shirt & polo shirt) Deadline to receive uniform shirts prior to Thanksgiving has passed.  If you have not ordered yet please order as soon as possible.  Click the blue link to go directly to the website. Look for Derby Merchandise.

Welcome to Derby Middle School Choirs!  Derby Choir provides students with opportunities to learn and perform several styles of choral singing.  These songs will incorporate some movement, unison, and part singing.  In choir students will learn and develop music reading skills, vocal technique, self assessment and confidence through performance.

 

Welcome to Derby Music Station –Our music station students have the opportunity to explore and learn to read music through playing Boom Whackers, Piano, and Guitar and singing.  There will be a basic introduction of Western Classical music of the Classical, Baroque and Romantic periods of music.
