Hello! Welcome to Derby Middle School!  I am excited to be working with 8th grade students and parents this year.  We will be entering into a partnership focused on the education and success of your child.  I would like to share information about myself both personally and professionally.  

Derby Middle School has always been my home.  I have been here since the start of my teaching career and I love being a Derby Dragon!  I graduated from Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Special Education and Elementary Education.  I also have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University.  I am a Spartan through and through!  I have had a busy summer with my family and I am eager to start the new school year as your child's teacher.

I feel that communication is key in your child's success this year.  I look forward to meeting with everyone and speaking to you soon at curriculum night and conferences.  I will mostly be communicating with you through email and writing in their agenda books.  Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns as well.  I will always make time to meet with students and parents to create a positive partnership.

I have been anxiously awaiting the school year.  I am committed to making this year memorable for the students and myself.  I know that we can accomplish great things working together and striving toward common goals!
