Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mr. Maldonado and I am a 4th grade teacher at Beverly Elementary School. I have been a teacher here at Beverly for 18 years and I have taught a variety of grades including 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I graduated from Western Michigan University where I earned my teaching degree in Elementary Education with a focus on early childhood development. I recently went back to school and earned my masters degree in teaching from Marygrove College.
I am a proud member of the Birmingham Education Association and I have served on quite a few committees throughout my years of teaching. Currently I am the crossing guard and the help run the Math Pentathlon Program at our school. We work on getting others to value diversity and to respect our differences. I volunteer with the local little league and I have helped organize t-ball, coached teams, umpired games, helped build and repair fields, and served on the board as a director.
I am a proud husband and father of two wonderful children. My wife Kelly is an outstanding 4th grade teacher in the Troy School District where we live. We met teaching and knew right away we were meant for each other. My daughter Gabriella (7 years old) and my son Leonardo (5 years old) are my pride and joy. I also must mention my dog Pedro who is now 12 years old. My favorite subjects to teach are math and science because they are exciting and challenging. I have always felt a special connection to the staff, families, and people of Beverly Hills. If you ever have any questions or concerns about our school, or about our programs/curriculum please feel free to email me.
