Welcome to Second Grade!!

I have been in the Birmingham School District for the past 27 years teaching at the middle school, then in a self-contained cross categorical  room, and currently in the elementary school. I began my career teaching in Texas working with students from second to eighth grades.  Here is where I found the love for students who learn differently. I believe that ALL students can learn, but they learn at different rates and in different ways. 

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Michigan State University- GO GREEN! and a Masters of Education in Special Education from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas! I am on school and district committees and have been hard at work learning the most current trends in education to share with my students.  I love to learn new information, strategies and techniques.  It is my passion and so I have attended many classes and workshops. I am a life-long learner!

I am married and have a son Jonathan, who is a recent graduate of Central Michigan University. In my spare time, I like to travel and most importantly love to sing and dance!
