Susan Crocker has been the Principal at Pembroke since the 2011-2012 school year. She began her career in Texas as a middle school teacher where she taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Reading and Life Science. She also coached volleyball, basketball and softball. After moving to Michigan in 1998, Susan taught 5th grade at Doherty Elementary in West Bloomfield, was the district’s Science and Math Curriculum Coordinator, and returned to Doherty to serve as Principal for 9 years. In addition to her duties as the principal at Pembroke, Susan serves on multiple district committees and can frequently be found conducting professional development for teachers across the district and working to mentor new and/or aspiring educational leaders.
Susan earned a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University, and a Bachelors degree in K-8 Interdisciplinary Education with specializations in Reading and Life Science from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. She and her husband Gregg enjoy visiting with their family and friends in Texas much as possible and have a daughter who teaches English and coaches both Swim and Water Polo at Clear Brook High School in Texas.
