Room Parents

  • Room Parents organize activities, coordinate volunteers and provide academic support for classrooms at the 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 grade levels. Each grade level has two Room Parent Coordinators that organize meetings to provide room parent guidance and support. For grade 3/4 and 5/6, each classroom typically has two room parents, one to represent each grade level.

We are always looking for room parents particularly at the 5/6 grade level. Interested parents should contact your grade level Room Parent Coordinators for more information.

    3/4 Parents

Room parents at this level plan parties, organize volunteers for activities, field trips and swimming, and provide additional teacher support as needed. There are many ways to help available and opportunities to fit all schedules. Being a 3/4 room parent is a great way to get involved! The 3/4 room parents meet monthly - date and time to be announced.

    5/6 Parents

The room parent role at the 5/6 level offers a great opportunity to get to know your teacher team and other parents and to connect with BCS with a small time commitment. The 5/6 room parents meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 9:15am in the Media Center.

    7/8 Parents

The 7/8 room parents function as a team, not by individual homeroom. All 7/8 activities are team-wide events planned with direction provided by the 7/8 teaching team.

Volunteers are needed to help purchase, sort, and distribute food for the Halloween, Holiday, and Valentines Day parties. Volunteers are also needed to coordinate and help with the Blast auction baskets in March, Staff Appreciation Luncheon in May, Cedar Point bagels in June, and 7/8 End of Year Breakfast on the last day of school.

Participation by all 7th grade parents is also encouraged for the 8th Grade Graduation/Celebration. Please click on the link above for more information.
