Ms. Belf

Ms. Belf is excited to be a part of the Visual Art Program at Groves High School. Now entering her thirtieth year in teaching, it is her fourth year as part of the Groves family. She teaches our Photography class in our new Mac Lab that she helped create and has revamped our darkroom into a fully functioning classroom.  Ms. Belf also teaches the Ceramic classes, both hand building and wheel throwing. She ran the Photography Club for two years, but had to dissolve that club as she took over as Head Sponsor for the National Art Honor Society.  NAHS purpose is to assist student member to attain their highest potential in all forms of art, to provide art related service and to raise awareness of art education through the school and community.  Previously, Ms. Belf taught in Eastpointe at East Detroit High School and at Richmond Community High School. Ms. Belf is excited to be teaching at Groves and has already increased the participation and involvement with students in the Scholastic Art Competition.  Ms. Belf is a graduate of Central Michigan University, receiving a double major in English and Art and a Masters of Art at Wayne State University. Ms. Belf is a mother of two children who still keep her busy even though they are in high school and college.
