Mrs. Michelle Ward
The school Speech and Language Pathologist provides support to students who are experiencing difficulties in the areas of articulation, language, voice, and fluency. The SLP serves as a member of the special education evaluation team, which determines a student’s eligibility for special education services. The SLP is also a member of the Greenfield Response to Intervention Team, which creates plans of assistance for students who are in need of extra support in order to promote their educational success. The SLP works closely with students, parents, and school staff to ensure that all children learn.
School Speech and Language services may include individual, group, or whole class activities designed to increase communication skills using a wide variety of strategies. Speech and Language services also include consultation with parents and school staff in order to maximize student success within the school environment.
Michelle Ward, M.S., CCC-SLP has been a Speech and Language Pathologist for the Birmingham Public Schools for 17 years.
