My name is Mitzi Varda and I have the pleasure of serving West Maple as your Community School Organizer. I have over 20 years of experience as an educator, having taught preschool, kindergarten, first and fifth grades and also Reading Recovery.

I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College, and completed my Reading Recovery Certification from Oakland University.

I am a proud mother of three Birmingham students. All of my children have been West Maple Wolves. I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends, laughing and enjoying all that life has to offer.
