• About Mrs. Rothe

  • Hello! I am Mrs. Bailey Rothe, and I primarily teach English 9/Honors English 9 here at Seaholm. The 2022-2023 school year will be my sixth year in the classroom and fourth at Seaholm. I have taught English 9 at a couple of other schools around the state, and I particularly love Seaholm's program. I enjoy helping students have a solid start to high school. English 9 classes give students the opportunity to learn about themselves and build strong connections with their teachers and classmates. Students make personal connections through reading and writing, and they consider how the reading and writing skills we cover in one class can apply to other areas of life.

I graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2017 with a degree in English and social studies education. While I have mainly taught English, I like to incorporate aspects of social studies into the English curriculum whenever possible. I graduated from Northern again in 2021 with my Master's of Education Instruction: English.

In my free time, I love to read fiction. I will read anything-- classics, contemporary, young adult, sci-fi, historical--and I love discussing books with my students. I also volunteer with dog training and rescue organizations. I have fostered dogs for a dachshund rescue in the past, and I am currently volunteering at a shelter and raising a puppy for Leader Dogs for the Blind.

I am looking forward to meeting Seaholm's next class of freshmen! Feel free to reach out with any questions: brothe@birmingham.k12.mi.us
