  • Battle of the Books Grades 4th – 5th  

    Battle of the Books is an annual, district-wide reading challenge for fourth and fifth grade students. Teams created with fourth and fifth grade students meet on the day of The Battle to answer trivia challenge questions about books. The program started with a book launch in the Fall and culminates with The Battle of the Books in April.  This is in partnership with the Baldwin Library.

    Gator Buddies Grades 1st-5th

    Students have an opportunity to be peer mentors to students in our programed classrooms.  Staff and students build relationships and help model in a variety of ways.

    Honors Choir Grades 4th – 5th

    Honors Choir is an auditioned group of 40 students. Students enjoy the opportunity to develop their love of singing with students that share the same interest. This group has established itself with a distinguished reputation and is sought after for all types of performances. As a traveling choir, they act as ambassadors for Greenfield School and the Birmingham School District. The choir has performed for the local city Tree Lighting, caroled downtown for the Chamber of Commerce and performed at the Winter Markt. The choir has also been the featured group for Oakland County’s annual Diversity Breakfast. The choir has previously performed at the State Capitol, for preshow entertainment at the Fox Theatre and the Fisher Theater.

    Math Pentathlon Grades K-1, 2-3, & 4-5

    Math Pentathlon is a program of interactive problem-solving games, supportive curricular and instructional activities and assessment tools for students in grades K-5. This motivational program strengthens basic math concepts and skills, aligns with National and State Mathematics Standards and stimulates creative thinking while developing problem solving skills. A focus on conceptual understanding and the integration of spatial, computational and logical reasoning are key attributes of Math Pentathlon. By using specially designed games and activities that differentiate instruction, all students are motivated to enjoy math.

    PTA Reflections Grades K-5th

    In its more than 40-year history, the Reflections program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to explore their artistic talents. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool - grade 12 are encouraged to submit works of art in six arts areas: • Dance Choreography • Film Production • Literature • Musical Composition • Photography • Visual Arts. 

    It begins in September and culminates at the beginning of December.  More details will be shared at the start of school.

    Robotics 1st   Lego League Grades 1st-5th

    Students have an opportunity to engage with Legos and build projects to solve a problem. Each year, various students participate. More information will be shared as the leagues form at the start of the school year.

    Safety and Service Squad Grades 4th – 5th

    The Safety Squad is an opportunity for leadership roles to assist our school and younger students at the beginning and end of the school day.  Students can help with arrival and dismissal, walking students to/from the bus and welcoming students into the school.  Service Squad offers students the chance to work before school to assist teachers in preparing their class for the start of the day. 

    Science Olympiad Grades 4th – 5th

    Science Olympiad is a national, non-profit organization designed to increase student interest in science, and to provide recognition for student achievement in these events. The tournaments are academic, inter-scholastic competitions consisting of 16 individual and team events. The format of the competition follows popular board games, television shows and athletic games.  This is a local tournament for BPS schools to participate in early spring.

    After School Enrichment Grades K-5

    Greenfield after-school enrichment opportunities are offered through our Community Education Department. Community Education offers a variety of after-school classes for a minimal fee for students. Classes include one-day workshops that offer exploration of a variety of subjects, as well as extended-weekly series that include Chess, Kindergarten and First Grade Spanish, and Creative Arts. These classes are scheduled in different rotations throughout the entire school year. Classes include: Chess, KidzArt, Lego Engineering, Science, Spanish, Video Production and cooking classes. Information will be shared from Community Education at Greenfield.
