Community Ed Programming
At this time, Birmingham Public Schools will not be renting indoor facilities to outside organizations. We understand the challenges this poses for many, and struggled with this decision as it affects many long term partnerships we have valued over the years. However, our focus as a District must remain on bringing our BPS students and staff back together in safe ways this school year. BPS is working diligently to provide PPE, supplies and intensified cleaning protocols at each of our buildings. Further exposure of outside guests pose challenges and capacity issues we are unable to accommodate in this environment. Outdoor rentals will be considered at this time, should you have an interest in exploring that option.
Virtual community education programming will continue and we encourage interested parties to reach out to our Community Education office with any virtual class proposals. We will follow our standard practices in vetting and selecting quality programming to offer to our community.
We apologize for the difficulties this decision may have on your organization or business. It is our fervent hope that we are able to serve you again and continue to build on the partnerships we’ve created. Our Community Education staff will reach out to those interested in using our facilities again once we are able to move forward with that work. Until then, we wish good health to all.Birmingham Community Education offers classes, summer camps and academic summer school programs for all community members. The Birmingham Community Education Department also oversees the rental of BPS facilities and fields. To see current program offerings or to inquire about a rental, please visit the Birmingham Community Education website or call 248.203.3800.
