    About Coach Wilson:
I have taught mathematics at Groves since January 2006, and in that time have taught nearly every course we offer, including teaching AP Calculus BC since 2013.  Prior to Groves I substitute taught and coached at Southgate Anderson HS for four years.  I attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, originally studying electrical engineering, but ultimately completing a BS in Pure Mathematics in 2003. I then went on to Madonna University where I completed my teaching certification in secondary mathematics with a minor in Political Science.  I have a MA in Athletic Administration from Concordia University and a MS in Pure Mathematics from Emporia State University.  I have coached football since 2002, as well as track & field and basketball.  I currently coach varsity defensive line and coordinate the strength, speed, and conditioning aspects of the Groves Football program.  In 2017 I was recognized by the MHSFCA as one of ten assistant coaches of the year in the state of Michigan (quite an honor!).  I am a certified strength and conditioning coach through the IYCA.  I have been or currently am a member of district leadership teams in mathematics and social justice, school improvement team, and an advisor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters.  My wife, Shannon, is a Human Resources Manager for MIAT and our daughter, Payton, was born on Pi Day in 2011.  We live in Canton with our golden doodles, Maize and Bursley.  I am an avid reader, primarily of social science non-fiction (politics, political theory, international relations, economics, history) and some military/political fiction (Tom Clancy genre), as well as periodicals such as the Economist and Foreign Affairs.
