Welcome to 8th grade science, room 116.   

 Eighth grade students will be transitioning to new ways of learning, doing, and understanding science using the Next Generation of Science Standards.  The curriculum will address science and engineering practices (analyzing and interpreting data); disciplinary core ideas (science principles); and crosscutting concepts (patterns, scale, systems).  Most of the in class assignments will be done in groups. We will be using new material and methods to achieve our goals.

The units of study this year includes:  Astronomy, Solid Earth, Physical Science, and Chemistry.  There is NO text book for the first semester, however, the students will receive all the necessary resources needed to cover the units.
