The goal of Spanish 6th- 8th is to continue the development of the student’s proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and in communicating orally and in writing by building on language skills acquired previously. As the student’s knowledge of the Spanish language expands and deepens he or she will learn more about the cultures and peoples of the Spanish-speaking world since culture is an integral part of the study of a language.

These courses use DESCUBRE Levels 1 and 2 by Vista Higher Learning as the textbook along with the use of the DESCUBRE vText (virtual interactive text) http://www.vhlcentral.com and Supersite. We also use videos, CDs, DVDs, workbooks, authentic supplementary materials and the World Languages Lab. Several thematic Units will be used that include projects utilizing technology or other methods where appropriate will be incorporated into the curriculum.
