    What do children learn in BPS preschool programs? Using a play based approah and following the HighScope Curriculum approah BPS toddler and preschool programs teach developmentally appropriate skills. Children develop the confidence and competence that lead to success in school by practicing these skills. The curriculum is based on the State of Michigan's Early Childhood development, language/literacy/communication, interpersonal skills and relationships, creative arts, dramatice play, and construction.     The BPS Early Childhood Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Center has been accredited since 2001. The Center meets rigorous national standards in the following areas: relationships, curriculum, teaching, health, assessment of child progress, teachers, families, community relationships, physical environment, and leadership and management.
