• Welcome to the 2019-2020 Winter Trimester.

Your first assignment is to read the class syllabus with your parents/guardians.  Please let me know if there is anything that you would like to share about you.

    1st Hour  -  Syllabus           Student/Parent Contract

    2nd Hour -  Syllabus           Student/Parent Contract

    3rd Hour -  Syllabus           Student/Parent Contract

    5th Hour -  Syllabus           Student/Parent Contract

My goal for students is that they worry less about the grade and more about what they have learned throughout the year. I intend to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to make mistakes and to learn from their mistakes.

There are links for Integrated Math 1 and Pre-Calculus at the left.  Please see the respective pages for specific information on each course.

    Classroom Expectations

While in this class, your success will be directly related to the effort you choose to put into it.  I expect that we will make learning the top priority, and consequently direct our energy and effort towards ensuring that every student is successful.

While I intend to support and challenge you with a variety of learning opportunities, I want you to understand that you are responsible for creating optimal learning for yourself!

This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

    • Coming to class on time and prepared.
    • Engaging in meaningful discussion & productive struggle.
    • Independently following classroom procedures.
    • Following group norms set forth by the class/teacher.
    • The Seaholm Student Code of Conduct applies

    Homework

Students will have the opportunity to make corrections to their own homework on a daily basis. Questions from the homework will be answered each day. Most homework assignments will be checked for completeness, however, some may also be checked for correctness. Students must write down each problem and show evidence of trying every problem and show all work to receive full credit for the homework.

    Additional Help

Even the best students get stuck or confused. Often times 5 or 10 minutes of individual help makes all the difference in understanding and learning.  Please do not wait until the day of a quiz or test to get extra help. Please see me as soon as you begin having difficulties. I will be available for extra help during X Block on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. in Room A107 and after or before school by appointment.

    PowerSchool

PowerSchool is a fabulous way for students and parents to stay updated.  Parents and students should review PowerSchool together.  I recommend checking PowerSchool on a regular basis.  It is updated almost daily.  If you notice a mistake, please bring it to my attention.  If you forget to write down an assignment or miss class, check PowerSchool for the assignment that you missed.
