Our approach to Early Childhood Development
BPS early learning programs are committed to providing a nurturing and secure educational setting for young children and their families.
Approach
In a safe, age-appropriate, engaging environment, children learn and explore as they experience their world. Our play-based programs encourage the development of each child's unique potential. The process enhances physical, emotional, social, creative and intellectual growth.
Staff, children and families, in partnership with the community, learn to value diversity and to foster individuality, self-confidence, love of learning and respect for themselves and others.
Curriculum
The BPS early learning programs follow the HighScope curriculum. This curriculum aligns with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for the State of Michigan. A strong foundation for school readiness, to enhance cognitive, physical and social-emotional creative development is the focus of our high-quality programs.
Our teachers have been trained in early childhood education and understand that all children go through the same stages of development, but each child develops at a different rate. In addition to planning classroom activities based on this comprehensive curriculum, teachers work to establish rapport with children and families and to create an age appropriate physical environment.
We look forward to providing your child with an exceptional early childhood educational experience!
