2015-16 Survey Results

Positive results from community survey

During the 2015-16 school year, BPS asked the community to share their thoughts regarding the district and the work being done to serve students. The survey drew responses from parents, staff members, non-parents, business owners and alumni. Each school was represented in the survey results.

Over 90 percent of respondents would be likely or highly likely to recommend BPS to others and over 85 percent would give BPS an “A” or “B” grade. The survey asked the community to provide their opinions on student achievement in terms of global, social and emotional, communications and collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and self-direction skills. Overall, the results showed a strong belief that our students show these skills, at between 70-80 percent.

Over 75 percent of people believe the school and district level communications are good or excellent. Approximately the same number believes BPS to be a good partner with the community. Over 80 percent believe district buildings to be welcoming and over 70 percent find the volunteer opportunities in the district to be very good or good.

The district will use these results and the others gathered from the survey to help move the district work forward. The survey also included information about preschool programming and technology.
