2021-2022 FALL REGISTRATION

Warm greetings Groves Families,
I hope this letter finds you well, and that you have found time to relax and recharge this summer. Can you believe August is right around the corner? I know I speak for the staff when I say that we are truly excited to begin the 2021-22 school year.
Last week, the district released information about COVID safety protocols that will be in place in the fall. Here is a link to this information if you did not yet receive it.
Also, this letter contains important information concerning back-to-school registration items to be completed, and events for students and families.
Required Online Registration
In the next week or so, you will receive an email concerning online registration through PowerSchool for your students; the system is called RSVP. Each year, this online registration process is required to be completed for each of your students who attend Birmingham Public Schools. I will send a follow-up message to this email so you know when the system is operable, and when you can begin the online registration process.
The site can only be accessed using a lap top or desktop, and NOT a mobile device. Chrome is the best internet browser to use to access the site.
The Parent Portal in PowerSchool (where you access your student’s grades and attendance records) also houses the online registration site.
*** Please note that your student’s schedule may not be accurate when you log in; please only use this site for registration purposes at this time. Counselors will return the week of August 16 to make requested schedule changes.
To start, visit https://birmingham.powerschool.com/public/home.html
After you log in to the portal:
Along the top, select the student you wish to register.
Select the “Returning Student Verification Process 2021-22” icon on the lower left side.
Enter the birthday for the student you have selected.
Click “Continue” and you will launch the electronic forms for verification and completion.
If you can not remember your password, and the “Having trouble signing in?” link does not work, please contact Lisa Reeves at email@example.com.
If you have more than one student in the district, submit the information for the first student, and then you can start another. The system will allow you to “snap” selected family information that will copy information for the second student you will register.
Completing online registration is required for students before they attend in-person registration on the following dates:
August 18 - Future Falcon Fair and 9th grade registration - Information was emailed to all incoming 9th grade families concerning this event’s agenda.
August 19 - 10th Grade In-person Registration - 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
August 19 - 11th Grade In-person Registration - 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
August 20 - 12th Grade In-person Registration - 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
August 20 - Make-up time for In-person Registration All Grade Levels - 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Turn in completed Permission to Administer Medication Form (if applicable)
Turn in completed parking forms (11th and 12th graders only) Parking Application Form
Turn in completed Open Lunch Forms (11th and 12th graders only) Lunch Form
Pick up 2021 Yearbook (if already ordered)
Obtain a locker assignment (students grades 10-12 can choose whether they would like a locker assignment)
Pay Optional Fees (if not using e-funds) Optional Fees List
Have School ID picture taken by Lifetouch - Picture Ordering Form

The first day of school for students is August 30th, and we are excited to have the energy of 1,200 students and more than 100 staff members back in the building!
